Security Deposit

Transparency & Trust:

At Board Meeting, our mission is to bring the world’s best tabletop experiences to your living room. To keep our library in “like-new” condition for every player, we implement a simple, transparent security deposit system.

Why do we have a Security Deposit?

Board games are more than just cardboard and plastic; they are carefully crafted experiences. Some of our games have hundreds of intricate components—custom wooden meeples, delicate cards, and unique dice—that are often difficult or expensive to replace individually.

The deposit acts as a mutual guarantee:

  1. It ensures the game is returned on time so the next player isn’t left waiting.

  2. It encourages mindful play so that the components remain in great condition for years to come.

How This Benefits You

It might seem like just another fee, but the security deposit actually works in your favor:

  • Guaranteed Quality: You will never receive a game with missing pieces or “sticky” cards. The deposit system allows us to meticulously inspect and maintain every box before it reaches your door.

  • Lower Rental Fees: By protecting our inventory, we can keep our daily rental prices much lower than the cost of buying a game outright.

  • Fairness for All: It ensures that every member of the boardmeeting.in community treats the games with the same respect they would want the previous player to have shown.

How It Works (The 3-Step Process)

  1. Checkout: When you rent a game, the security deposit is added to your total. This is a flat, refundable amount based on the game’s replacement value.

  2. The 2-Hour Window: Once your game is delivered, take a quick peek! Use the included Component Checklist to verify everything is there. If anything is missing, just let us know within 2 hours via WhatsApp.

  3. Swift Refund: Once the game is back with us and our “Game Gurus” have verified the components, your deposit is initiated for refund within 24–48 hours.

Common Questions

“What if I lose a single small piece?” We know accidents happen! We don’t want to keep your whole deposit for one tiny wooden cube. We have a “Spare Parts” library and usually only charge a small fee to replace the specific component, returning the rest of your deposit to you.

“What counts as damage?” Normal wear and tear (like a slightly softened box corner) is expected. However, major spills, torn boards, or missing essential cards are what the deposit is designed to cover.

“When will I get my money back?” As soon as the game is checked in (usually the same day it’s returned), we process the refund. Depending on your bank, it should reflect in your account within a few business days.

Play Hard, Play Fair.
